St Lucia Diabetes Project (UK) is a registered UK Charity in 2009 with the objectives “to promote the health and well-being of diabetes sufferers and their families in St Lucia and the wider Caribbean, and promote health education and improved understanding of international health issues
among the general public and their families living in the UK”.

Activities
- Supplying small items of medical equipment and consumables to hospitals, health centres and other organisations involved with diabetes in St Lucia
- Organising biennial visits to Saint Lucia by specialist health care professionals
from UK to provide training in diabetes awareness, prevention, wound and foot
care, to improve the care that Saint Lucian health professionals deliver to their
diabetic patients - Applying for Commonwealth Professional Fellowships for Saint Lucian doctors
and nurses to undertake training in diabetes and leg ulcer management in the
UK (23 nurses, 1 doctor and 2 health aides trained to date) - Organising workshops on diabetes awareness, prevention, and management in
local communities in London.
